When Resurrection Faith Enters Life

In Luke 24, two disciples were walking toward Emmaus, saddened and unaware of Jesus’ resurrection. On the way, the risen Lord appeared to them and explained the Scriptures, revealing how the prophecies concerning Himself had been fulfilled. Later, when Jesus took bread, gave thanks, and broke it, their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him.They then went to tell the other disciples about His resurrection, but the others were still hesitant to believe.

To believe in the Lord means to believe in the living Lord.Faith is not just intellectual agreement; it is personally meeting and experiencing the Lord. Moreover, it is not merely believing in the Jesus we once encountered in the past, but in the Jesus who is alive and present now. When we truly believe in the living Lord today, life, joy, and power begin to flow within us.Knowing about Jesus only in our minds or recalling a past encounter brings no true life or power.

A life of true spirituality is one that meets the Lord personally and experientially—moment by moment, day by day—walking with the living Lord in His presence. It is a life that consciously dwells with Him, feels His presence, and delights in His fellowship.

In John 20, the disciples saw the risen Lord, yet they still lived in confusion and fear, uncertain about what to do next. Thus, in John 21, we see the risen Jesus once again coming to His disciples—those who had returned to their ordinary lives, focusing only on survival instead of living out their calling. This moment represents the resurrection faith entering into real life.Even after encountering the risen Lord, each believer faces a choice: whether to continue living only for survival, or to live for God’s calling and mission in faith and obedience.

Since the fall of Adam, humankind has lived under the burden of labor and survival—to sustain physical life in this world. But God does not want us to remain there.Of course, we must work and labor for our daily needs—this is the divine principle God has ordained: by the sweat of our brow, we receive provision for life. However, this does not mean our hope should rest only in this earthly life.God calls us to rise above mere survival and live for eternity—to long for what is eternal and to set our hearts on what lasts forever.Only then can we truly serve the Lord as our rightful Master and prove our faith before Him.

It is in this tension—between the world and the Lord—that our choices reveal what we value most.To those who love Him, the Lord says, “Feed My lambs, take care of My sheep.”When we truly love the Lord, we can carry out the work He entrusts to us.How much or what kind of work He gives depends on His will. But one thing is certain: when we truly acknowledge Him as Lord and love Him, we can serve Him wholeheartedly and live according to His calling and purpose for our lives.

This truth applies to every believer in Christ.May we all live by such faith—joyfully obeying the Lord and fulfilling His will in our generation. In Jesus’ name, I bless you.
