Under their standard and their banners

[Nu 2:2, NIV] "The Israelites are to camp around the tent of meeting some distance from it, each of them under their standard and holding the banners of their family." In today’s Bible reading, we see a scene where the Israelites organize their camp for their march. According to the set standard, each camp is arranged under the banner of the father of their tribe. As they journey through the wilderness and move forward to conquer Canaan, their camps are structured with specific orders, positions, and roles. Each tribe and family has a distinct calling, role, function, size, and order. However, they all move forward together in faith, following the leading of God’s Spirit and the direction of the Ark of the Covenant, which carries God’s Word, to conquer the land of Canaan.

Likewise, we have each been called according to our faith, calling, and nature, as members of one body and one church. Just as every church has its own role, calling, and characteristics, God has given Rosehill Church a unique mission and purpose. Yet, we must faithfully fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to us, and as one united church body, we move forward for the glory and kingdom of God.

Just as individual believers are diverse yet form one body in Christ, churches are also diverse, yet they come together as one body in Christ. When we deepen our understanding of what it means to be one church in Christ, recognize its significance, and act accordingly, the Lord’s kingdom will come closer. Ultimately, the day will come when we all rejoice together in heaven and praise the Lord.

In the name of the Lord, I love and bless our Rosehill family.
