Today's Bible reading is 1 Peter 2:4 through 5:11.

First Peter tells us something remarkable. We are not the house itself—we are stones. Not scattered, isolated stones, but living stones, being built upon Christ, the Living Stone.

The world rejected Jesus. But God chose Him.And astonishingly, God is building His dwelling placeon the very Stone the world discarded.

This means our identity is not shaped by the world’s approval. It is not grounded in success, recognition, wealth,or a life without suffering. Our identity is firmly established on Christ, the Living Stone. That is where our true worth is found.

We are a chosen people, citizens of the Kingdom of God.Peter calls us foreigners and exiles. In other words, this world is not our true home.

That truth is both a comfort and a challenge. The discomfort we feel in this worldis not necessarily because we are living wrongly, but often because we do not belong here.

That is why Scripture saysthat suffering for doing good is not failure—it is a calling.Christ walked that path before us.Though He was without sin, He endured suffering in silence. Why?Because He entrusted Himself completely to the will of God.

In chapter 4, Peter speaks very clearly:“Do not be surprised by the fiery trial among you.”

Suffering is not proof that God has abandoned us.More often, it is evidence that God is refining us.

Then Peter gives us this command:“Let those who suffer according to God’s willentrust their souls to a faithful Creatorwhile continuing to do good.”

This is faith. Not clinging to outcomes, but clinging to God Himself.Trusting the Lord in every situationand holding fast to Him—that is true faith.

Finally, Peter lifts our eyes to hope:“After you have suffered a little while,He will Himself restore you, confirm you, strengthen you,and establish you.”

Beloved, when we are suffering,it feels as though it will last forever. But suffering is momentary.God and His glory are eternal.

We are not striving to prove that we are light. We have already been calledout of darknessinto His marvelous light. We live in the Lord, and we dwell in His marvelous light.

So today, stand firm on Christ.Do good without fear. And live as God’s peoplefor the glory of His name.
